R.E.A.D. Reading Educational Assistance Dog at Sanibel Library
R.E.A.D. - Reading Educational Assistance Dogs at Sanibel Public Library Children's Area:
Children love coming to the Library to read to Bessie, a bearded collie.
It doesn't matter if the child is just beginning to read or has been reading for a while, they are given the opportunity to read to Bessie - a therapy dog.
The dog's owner is in the room with the dog and the student. If the student has trouble reading, the owner will help him/her.
Please call the Library at 239-472-2483 to sign up for a 15 minute time slot to read to Bessie!
The Library hosts the "Reading Educational Assistance Dogs" program Thursdays at 4:00 p.m.
