DESCRIPTION:St. Michael's to Hold Annual Blessing of the Animals on October 7\n\nSANIBEL\, Fla.   St. Michael &amp\; All Angels Episcopal Church will hold its annual\n\nBlessing of the Animals on Wednesday\, October 7\, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.\n\noutside the church at 2304 Periwinkle Way\, Sanibel.\n\nThe event will begin with a brief 15 minute outdoor service celebrating the joy\,\n\ncompanionship and unconditional love that animals bring to our lives. Following\n\nthe service\, clergy will offer individual blessings beneath the red tent in front of\n\nthe church.\n\nPets and their people may drive\, walk or bike up to the tent to receive a blessing. For\n\neveryone's comfort and safety\, pets should be secured on a leash or in a carrier.\n\nThose whose pets cannot attend are invited to bring a photograph for blessing.\n\nChildren and adults are also welcome to bring a beloved stuffed animal to be\n\nblessed.\n\nThe Blessing of the Animals is a cherished tradition inspired by St. Francis of Assisi\,\n\nwho is remembered for his love of animals and all creation.
