This month\, we are excited to welcome the new Executive Director of the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum\, Sam Ankerson\, as our speaker. Learn more about Sam\, the fascinating world of mollusks\, and all of the incredible educational opportunities the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum has to offer! \n\n \n\nSam Ankerson joined the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum as Executive Director in March\, 2021. Prior to that he was Deputy Director at the Norton Museum of Art (West Palm Beach\, FL)\, managing operations including communications\, visitor experience\, facility\, program\, and COVID-19 response and reopening. At the Norton\, he also coordinated the 2019 opening of a major new wing designed by Pritzker-Prize winning architects Foster + Partners. Before moving to Florida Sam lived in Vermont where he worked for 14 years in development and communications at Shelburne Museum\, and for four years in major gift fundraising at the University of Vermont. He began his career in the music business. He and his wife Emily have two daughters\, two cats\, and two dogs!\n\n \n\n\n\nAdvanced registration is required as seating is limited for this luncheon.
