Egypt was the dominant civilization in the Middle East for more than 2,000 years, and its kings are household names. But what is the relevance of the culture of Ancient Egypt today? Professor Adrian Kerr will highlight the civilization’s major achievements, which include inventions such as the arch, astronomy, cosmetics, medicine, and even a labor strike. Kerr will also discuss many early developments, like that of irrigation and agriculture, women’s empowerment, and advanced mathematics predating the Greeks.
