F.I.S.H. OF SANCAP Presentation: Mental Health Series Part V: ‘It Takes a Village’
FISH is teaming up with the Sanibel Police Department, Centerstone FACT Team, and Park Royal Hospital for the last presentation in their mental health series, ‘It Takes a Village’. CIT Officers and other first responders are trained to communicate effectively with this special population. Agencies, such as Centerstone, handle situations with the severely mentally unhealthy, and personnel from Park Royal Hospital will share how to follow up with persons struggling with mental illness. This session will direct families to not only resources but also to faces in the community who really care and share the responsibility for those that are mentally unstable.
Presenters Leann Marston, LCSW, Director Outpatient Services, Park Royal Hospital; Adina Bridges, MSW, Manager, Centerstone FACT Team and a Crisis Intervention Trained (CIT) Officer from the Sanibel Police Department will inform how the community-at-large, plays a part with helping our mentally unhealthy citizens. They will speak about the challenges and successes dealing with mental illness in the community.
