Frauds, Scams, and Identity Theft
FISH of SanCap is kicking off the new year with an important community workshop focused on one of today’s most alarming issues: frauds, scams, and identity theft. Presented in partnership with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the free program will take place on Thursday, January 22, from 11:00am–1:00pm at Saint Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, 2304 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
The workshop will be led by Chelsea Long, Crime Prevention Practitioner with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, who will walk participants through examples showing just how quickly criminals can access personal information and drain bank accounts. Topics include:
- How to safeguard your identity and personal information
- What to do if you become a victim
- Current trends, scams, and emerging cons
- Q&A with the Sheriff’s Office
The workshop is open to everyone. RSVPs are required by January 19th. Please visit https://fraudscamidentityworkshop.rsvpify.com to reserve a spot. Snacks, water, and ample parking will be available.
