Garden Talk: Tropicals for the Hot Summer
Gardening in Southwest Florida requires specific knowledge since it is the only state in USDA growing zone 10. Many plants from all over the world thrive in the warm Southwest Florida temperatures and enjoy the daily summer rains. At Edison Ford, there are plants from Costa Rica, Brazil, Thailand, India and other parts of the world. During this talk, participants will walk through the botanical gardens and learn about the varieties of plants that grow here throughout the summer. Tips on how to grow tropical plants at home will also be provided. Bring water, a hat, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes. All participants will receive a 20% off coupon for plant purchases in the Garden Shoppe. Advanced registration is not required.
