Home School at Edison Ford Grades 4-6





Home School - Join us and explore the “living laboratory” of the Edison and Ford Winter Estates. Our Wild Wizards will challenge your mind and foster collaboration in this homeschool science and engineering series.
Homeschool classes at Edison Ford are aligned with Next Generation Science and Florida State Standards. Classes are a combination of instruction and hands on activities that are designed to facilitate homeschool or virtual science education.
Become a family member of Edison Ford and receive discounted registration.  Members$10 each or $60 for series
Non-members$15 each or $95 for series
October: Chemistry. Students learn about the key concepts of chemistry as they engage in exciting experiments.
November: Space Science. Students explore space as they build solar viewers and learn about the science of light.
December: Earth Science. From the rock cycle to the water cycle, this class is all about Earth.
January: The Process of Science. Science process skill are taught as students perform a series of experiments selected to generate curiosity.
February: Physics. Students learn about energy transfer and the science of waves as they explore this fundamental field.
March: Electricity. Students learn about the history and the fundamental concepts of electricity through dramatic demonstrations and hands-on work.
April: The Engineering Design Process. What do you do, when you don’t know what to do?  Students learn to navigate the “problem space” as they explore the engineering design process.
Includes one adult and one child.  Limit 10. Masks are required for all participants.
