A Sanibel resident since 1989, retired realtor Ada Shissler began printing her travel photos on canvas after a six week trip to India in 2009. She used her experience to create exhibits of the travels of the Captiva Yacht Club to San Francisco for the America’s Cup Races, the International Boat Show at Newport, RI, and a trip to Cuba. More than 50 of her images, displayed on a variety of media, will be exhibited in January at the Library. Shissler said, “Exciting new technology is bringing the opportunity for even greater creativity to photography, and I hope people will enjoy seeing the different mediums in which pictures can be reproduced. The same picture gives a different effect when printed on canvas, glass, aluminum, acrylic, or fabric.”
The public is invited, there is no registration required and no cost to participate.
