Weeds 'n' Seeds Plant Walk: CREW Marsh Trails
During winter, volunteers and plant experts from the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) lead weekly, educational Weeds ‘n’ Seeds plant walks on Sanibel and nearby off-island locations. All walks are on Monday mornings and last one to two hours.
On Feb. 3, we'll go to a beautiful off-island location: CREW Marsh Trails (4600 CR 850/Corkscrew Road, Immokalee, FL 34142) at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3.
For those on Sanibel and Captiva, we will car pool from Tutti Pazzi (1200 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel) at 8 a.m.
The trails here through the pine flatwoods are wide and mowed. As we get closer to the marsh and Pop Ash Slough, the trails may get muddy in a few places.
Please bring your lunch and water. We can enjoy our lunches in the covered picnic tables on our way out. It will be refreshing to see the diversity of an intact ecosystem after exploring our own hurricane-challenged barrier islands.
