As General Manager, you will serve as the operational leader of the resort, guiding day-to-day operations, leading a dedicated team, supporting homeowners and the Board of Directors, and helping ensure Sanibel Siesta remains one of the island’s most sought-after vacation destinations. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position requiring strong operational expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to balance the needs of guests, homeowners, staff, and the association. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable welcoming guests, working with owners and board members, leading staff, overseeing contractors, implementing marketing initiatives, managing rental operations, and ensuring the resort consistently operates at the highest standards of service and professionalism. Following an extensive post-Hurricane Ian restoration, our property has been beautifully renovated and revitalized. As we complete the final phases of our recovery and enhancement efforts, we are focused on positioning the resort for long-term success. During the coming year, the General Manager will play a key leadership role in overseeing several important initiatives, including final concrete restoration and painting projects, elevator modernization, landscaping enhancements, and implementation of a new reservation and property management system. Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and hands-on leader or a mid-career candidate with exceptional leadership potential with demonstrated success in: • Resort, hotel, and vacation rental management • Hospitality and guest service excellence • Homeowner’s association management • Property management systems, reservation systems, and OTA channel management • Staff leadership, coaching, and team development • Property maintenance and capital improvement oversight • Marketing, occupancy growth, and revenue enhancement • Financial management, budgeting, and operational planning • Owner, board, and community relations The ideal candidate will bring energy, integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a genuine commitment to service and excellence. Essential Qualifications • Current Florida CAM License required • Proven experience managing a resort, hotel, HOA, vacation rental property, or similar operation • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience with a successful track record of developing teams and driving results • Strong knowledge of hospitality, property management, and HOA operations • Experience managing reservation systems, property management software, and OTA relationships • Excellent organizational, problem-solving and ability to juggle competing priorities • Willingness to jump in and help staff with urgent issues • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff, owners, board members, contractors, and vendors • Willingness to respond to operational issues and emergencies as needed • High school diploma required; degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred Note: We may consider selecting a candidate that does not have all the qualifications listed above but demonstrates exceptional potential for growth and development.
