Community Engagement Coordinator
POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Responsible for working directly with the Executive Director to fulfill the organization’s mission and vision, promoting the organization through member and volunteer development, community programming, and community outreach. This position will oversee the management and development of volunteers and membership. This is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Director.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruit and organize Sanibel Community Association (SCA) volunteers, maintain volunteer lists and schedules, and plan and implement member and volunteer appreciation events.

Assist in membership development/recruitment and upkeep of the membership database.

Maintain a system for tracking membership “touch points” including a welcome mailing.

Maintain Point or similar volunteer sign-up and tracking system.

Survey membership and other community members to guide program development.

Line up programs and events based on interest, and oversee all aspects of implementation, including submitting permit applications with the City of Sanibel when required.

Work with guest presenters and workshop/class coordinators to create promotional materials for Community House programs.

With input from the Executive Director (ED) and Deputy Director (DD), draft a marketing plan and oversee the creation of materials for the organization’s events and initiatives, especially as it pertains to community outreach, membership, volunteers and programs.

Draft and execute e-newsletters related to community programming and outreach with input from ED and DD.

Maintain and enhance collaboration with other island organizations and nonprofits; develop/cultivate collaborative projects with community partners.

Update all community calendars (Chamber of Commerce, website calendars, nonprofit collaborative event calendars) with SCA events and programs.

Attend SCA programs and events whenever possible; ensure SCA programs are adequately staffed with volunteers and/or employees.

Attend and staff community outreach events while promoting our mission to the local community as required.

Represent the SCA is a positive, professional manner in the office, at SCA events, and in the community.

Other duties as requested in assisting SCA overall activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors Degree in related field preferred

Experience with nonprofit sector

SALARY & BENEFITS:

Full time

$44,000 - $48,000 depending on education and experience
-
Up to 15 days PTO accrued annually (eligible after probationary period)

Reimbursement for bridge tolls for off-island commute
