Deputy Director
POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Support the Executive Director in overseeing the operations of the organization by collaborating to coordinate daily activities and staffing, working to ensure compliance with regulations and policies, and monitoring the achievement of objectives to fulfill the organization’s mission and vision. Maintain a strong presence in the community through outreach opportunities and assisting with facility rentals and events, fundraising, and development activities. This position will oversee Facilities Operations Coordinator and event support staff. This is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Director.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Act as direct support for the Executive Director, with a focus on daily operations to ensure smooth operations of The Community House and customer satisfaction.

Maintain event schedules and all facility-use related details.

Oversee inventory and ordering for all aspects of the organization: office, facility-maintenance and cleaning, kitchen, and event supplies (bar and beverage service, linens, servingware, and so on)

Assist in budgeting and expense monitoring.

Promote excellent leadership skills in a team-oriented fashion to assist in employee retention.

Contribute to supervision and evaluation of staff, and assist the Executive Director in providing professional development opportunities to help staff achieve success.

Assist with additional HR responsibilities such as payroll, scheduling, and personnel policies.

In collaboration with the Executive Director, facilitate the orientation program for new board members.

Assist the Executive Director with donor-centered activities including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Assist with the annual development efforts which may include mailings; solicitations on the website and social media; year-end solicitation, membership renewals, pledge reminders and invitations.

Proactively cultivate, develop and secure new relationships with individuals and organizations to raise both financial and non-financial resources to support strategic partnerships.

Attend and staff community outreach events while promoting our mission to the local community as required.

Assist with the development and execution of new growth directives inclusive of marketing, social media, public relations, membership, website, and grantwriting.

Assist the Executive Director in overseeing the preparation and distribution of Marketing and Press Releases, including social media posts, e-newsletters, and website updates.

Assist with organizing website sales inventory (when applicable).

Contribute to the overall picture to assure that SCA meets its goals.

Other duties as requested in assisting SCA overall activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree in related field preferred

Experience with nonprofit sector

Fundraising experience, including grant-writing and donor development, a plus

SALARY & BENEFITS:

Full-time, salaried position (exempt)

$55,000 - $65,000, depending on education and experience

401k (eligible after 1 year of employment)

Up to 15 days PTO accrued annually (eligible after probationary period)

Reimbursement for bridge tolls for off-island commute
